BRITISH SAILORS' SOCIETY
Another enjoyable evening was given at the rooms of the British Sailors' Society on Monday by Miss Jean Hodgetts. There was a fair attendance of seamen and friends. Each item was greeted with applause, the performers having to respond with numerous encores. The programme consisted of songs, recitations, skipping items, and dances. Those contributing to the programme were Misses Zenda Smith, Claire Hodgkinson, Nola Diamond, Olive Jones'", Grace Hodgetts, Mary Lathan, Violet Jones. Joan McKay, Yvonne Smith, and Messrs. Joseph Jervis and Colin Currie. At the conclusion a vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. A. Hoult and carried with acclamation. Supper was served and the evening brought to a close with the National Anthem.
