YOUNG,WOMARPS DEATH
POLICE RETICENT

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.
Josephine Helen McPherson, aged 23, of McCormack's Bay, died from a bullet1 wound shortly after she was admitted to the' Christchurch Public Hospital "early, this morning.
The circumstances under which Miss McPherson received \ her wound are believed to be unusual, but it is understood that the bullet entered her body.
About 2.30 this morning Dr. Bakewell, of Sumner, was called to the McPherson's home in McCormack's Bay and shortly after 3 o'clock; the St. John Ambulance was called and the young woman was taken to the hospital. '■'"'".' Detectives from the Central Police Station went down to begin their investigations ,as soon as they were advised of the case, but extreme'reticence is being shown. . : ,
