ADDRESS TO THE KING
ADOPTED BY LOWER HOUSE
The following.resolution was carried by the House of Representatives this morning, on the motion of the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage):—
"That a respectful address in the following words be presented to his Majesty the King:— ■ ■ ■
"To the King's Most Excellent Majesty Most Gracious 'Sovereign.— We, your Majesty's most dutiful and loyal subjects, the Legislative Council and the House of Representatives of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, humbly desire to convey to your Majesty our respectful congratulations upon your Majesty's Coronation and to express the hope that your Majesty's reign may be a long and happy one."
Mr. Savage, said that .the House would not be in session at the time of the Coronation, and it was right and proper that the ; sentiments above should be conveyed by his Excellency the Governor-General (Lord Galway) at the appropriate time.
