INSTITUTE. OF SECRETARIES
At the September examinations held by the Australasian Institute of Secretaries, Mr. W. L. Birnie, of Palmerston North, obtained first place in Australia and New Zealand in the final examination, winning the gold medal presented by the institute. Mr. Birnie obtained 82J per cent, of the possible marks.
The following candidates from Wellington and neighbouring districts were successful in completing the final examination:—
W. L. Birnie and J. H. Finlinson (Palmerston North), S. J. Baker, R. D. Greenwood. E. A. Malloch, and J. J. Morgan (Wellington). Sectional passes: D. W. Spring and P. B. Trow (Palmerston North), F. B. Ainsworth, J. D. A. Hogari, A. J. L. Mclndoe, B. M. Silk (Wellington). Intermediate, sectional passes: J. C. S. Harvie (Featherston). M. A. Ingle (Wellington);
