FEILDING, October 30. Practically every department of the stock market showed a healthy,tone at the sale today, when there was a large yarding of. both sheep and cattle. The fact that there will be no sale next week finned up the market-for fat sheep and fat cattle. Fat ewes especially were keenly sought, prices advancing about 2s on last week. The-fat cattle market was in favour of venders. Good quality bullocks made 27s 6d per 1001b, with cow! beef selling to 26s 6d. Dairy breeds of fat cattle sold firm at advanced prices: There was an over-supply of dairy cattle, but mis did not afiect the prices of good lines of heifers and cows, which are stiH fetching good prices. The store cattle pens were somewhat meagrely stocked, with prices' at the late high rates. At .the Feilding sale yesterday the New Zealand Loan and' Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report ■ smaller yardings in all sections. In the fat sheep department ewes-showed a rise of Zs to 3s-per head,'while both fat wethersand hoggets met with a firm sale at late rates. Store sheep sold exceptionally well, shorn wethers showing a rise of Is 6d ncr head. Ewe hoggets were also iii keen demand and showed an appreciation on late values. Only a limited number of run cattle came forward. Yearling steers were a little above last week's level; while young heifers were un by. at least 7s 6d per head good bullocks also improving to the same extent. Good rains throughout Hawke's Bay, with consequent price improvement in that district, had the effect of reducing the numbers of cattle coming forward.
