NUGGET WORTH £60
MINER'S LUCK
A gold nugget weighing something over 7ioz was brought into Blenheim on Wednesday by a subsidised miner from Glengyle, in the Upper Wairau Valley, who, in company with his partner, secured it from a sluicing claim several days ago (states a correspondent). , The two miners concerned are Messrs. D. Clarke and B. Sim, who have been working under the subsidised scheme about four years, and have met with occasional success. Their previous best discovery was a nugget of about-4.0Z. Mr. Clarke also brought with him a small glass jar about onethird filled with small nuggets and fine gold, which had been recovered during the past few months. ■The big nugget has not yet been officially weighed, but it is considered that it will prove to be worth about £60. Mr.' Clarke is a miner of wide experience, and has worked claims in most of the gold-bearing parts of the province. Before he came here he took part in the famous Kalgoorlie and Coolgardie rushes, afterwards prospecting in most of the Australian Stateg.
