Miss Jean Batten received an enthusiastic civic welcome today, and was given a life membership badge of the Canterbury Aero Club. The speakers were the Mayor, Mr. J. W. Beanland; Squadron-Leader Findlay, of the Wigram Aerodrome; and Miss •Mildred Trent, on behalf of the National Council of "Women.
