HUTT POWER BOARD
» Mr. R. W. Bothamley presided at a meeting of the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board yesterday afternoon.
The following comparisons of power sales from April 1 to February 29, 1934-35 and 1935-36, were given, the figures for 1934-35 being in parentheses:—Domestic lighting, £32,388'13s 8d (£31,588 3s Id); commercial lighting, £10,625 14s 8d (£9497 19s 4d); heating and cooking, £28,959 10s lid (£23,818 10s Id); water heating, £9788652 d (£8931 Is); power, £20,217 15s 2d (£17,466 4s); public lighting, £3719 18s 5d (£3654 10s 7d); totals (less discounts), £90,809 lls Id (£82,158 16s lid). The engineer and general manager (Mr. E. F. Hollands) stated that during the period since the last report 47 new consumers were connected, together with additions to existing installations to the total of 4,5. The totals to March 4 were as follows:—Number of consumers, 12,207; number of ranges installed, 2057; number of water heaters connected, 1722; connected load in kilowatts, 47,852.
