CORNWELL CUP CONTEST

AUCKLAND, This Day.
The first race for the Cornwell Cup starts at 2 p.m. Twelve crews are competing. The weather is fine with a light but steady southerly breeze. All boats are in good order. The crews are sailing in their own boats today, then all are to be changed round.
Mr. J. J. Mackay was elected chairman of the conference, which decided to use deeper rudders for the contests. The judges are Messrs. A. Burt. (Otago), M. Smith (Lyttelton), J. Rawlinson (Auckland), and the time-keepers, Messrs. H. Burrows (Paremata), C. G. Banks (Kaiapoi). The limit for the race is three hours.
