MILD WINTER AT DUNEDIN

1 . .. DUNEDIN, This Day. One of the mildest winters on record was. experienced in Dunedin this year. It was seldom excessively cold, as is borne out by comparison with the weather at other centres. The hardest of 23/ frosts recorded in May, June, and July was one of 8 degrees. Dunedin's coldest day was May 21, when the maximum temperature for the 24 hours was 39.5 degrees. The last night-of winter (July 31) was the coldest one, the mercury dropping to 29.9 degrees.
The heaviest rainfall was one of 4.25 in in 39 hours between June 17 and June 19. ■:. ■■"-■■ -■:-"
