MANY MUNIFICENT GIFTS
In the year that Coronach won the Derby and St. Leger the late Lord Woolavington, whose death occurred recently, gave £10,000 to Edinburgh University as endowment of the Animal Breeding Research Department. Two years later he gave. £125,000 to the Middlesex Hospital,-London, which was being lebuill, for the provision of wards for patients belonging to the middle class. At the same time it became known that he had offered the King £50.000 for the completion o£ repairs and equipment of St. George's Chapel, Windsor. Lord Woolavington received a letter from Balmoral Castle assuring him that the King received : his offer with feelings of-deep gratitude, and also of relief from considerable anxiety as to the raising of funds fpr the restoration of the nave of the chapel. \ - -~\ ,
