MAGISTRATE'S COURT
■ Mr. E. D.Mosley, S.M., presided at the Magistrate's; Court today.
William Herbert Duncan Miller, a labourer, and Thomas John Lucinsky, who ■ were jointly charged with conspiring to defraud .the National Insurance Company of New Zealand, Ltd., of £825 18s: on March 4, were remanded until August 58.
For the theft of two library books, each valued: at'6s, the property of the Wellington City Council, Charles Morris, aged 22, was admitted to probation for twelve months.'
A similar penalty was imposed on a girl of 20, whose name was suppressed, for the theft of goods valued at 255.
' Hugh Shannon, a labourer,, aged' 53/ a. statutory second offender for drunkenness, was fined 10s, in default fortyeight hours' imprisonment.
Bernard Kearney was fined 10s for an offence in a public place.
Harry Autrobus was fined 20s and costs for selling milk below the standard laid down.
William' Randall was fined 10s and costs ior a firearms breach.
