AT FULL STRENGTH
APPEAL TO ELECTORS
;MR.'DAVY'S STATEMENT
In an-interview today, the Dominion organiser of the Democrat Party (Mr. A. TD. Davy) 'said that it was the intention of the party to go-to tho polls afetheend of. the year.in full strength. He said it was intended to contest all the', .Wellington seats.
'Mr.-Davy added that the only difficulty the Democrat Party had experienced in the selection of its candidates was in making a selection from the large number of eminently suitable men > and ■;women who were offering their .services. This was the case in every, part »of 'the Dominion. Not only were prominent business men coming forward, but farmers as well.
Thp conference of candidates, said Mr. Davy, had been a most successful one,', and-augured, well for the future of-the party. A thorough discussion of. political problems had taken place, and/a committee would probably be appointed to .'draft a statement for. the Press. This committee would sit during the weekend.
At the close of the conference of candidates, • organisers for the various districts would meet in Wellington to discuss plans for the coming campaign, and next' week tho national executive of the "organisation would meet in Wellington. The actual date had not yet-; been .decided.
■Mr. Davy was asked if he could say who had been selected as leader, but he declined to make any statement. "That will be included hi the statement to be issued," he said, "and at the same time a list of candidates will be given."
