66-SEATER 'PLANES
FIRST BATCH OF NEW FLEET
' (Received July 13, 11.30 a.m.) r LONDON, July 12. Eight 66-seater monoplanes havei been ordered by Imperial Airways as the first batch of a new fleet, from Armstrong, Whitworths, says the "Daily Mail's" aeronautical correspondent. The liners will develop 3600 -horsepower from four engines, /will travel at nearly 200 miles an hour, and will carry 50 passengers on the Australian and African routes, permitting a longer range. The accommodation will comprise a lounge, a kitchen, a bar, a baggage room, and a smokeroom, smoking being permitted for the first time by Imperial Airways. . .
