A VETERAN SEAFARER

AUCKLAND, This Day.
After enjoying participation in, a Scottish dance at a Caledonian gathering on Saturday night, Alexander Brown, aged 75, collapsed and died. He retired three years ago from the Northern Steamship Company after 45 years' service. His main ships were the Gairloch, Glenelg, Rotomahana. Aupori, Wellington, Rarawa, and Ngapuri. He crossed the Manukau Bar about 4000 times.
