ATTRACTIVE FOOTBALL
Meeting at the Basin Reserve, Stop Out and Scottish Wanderers played bright football, and an even contest was indicated when, at half-time, the whistle sounded with the score 2 all. The second spell, however, produced a surprise, as Stop put, playing with plenty of vim and initiative, put on 4 goals to their opponents' 1. The Wanderers' defence simply could not hold the dashing forward line of the Yellows, who made the most of the opportunities that came their way. The following were the teams:— Stop Ou^ (yellow).—Morris; J. Moore, O'Donnell; Boe, Sandholm, Nicholson; W. Moore, M. Liddicoat, R. Liddicoat, Mclvor, Lark. Scottish Wanderers (blue).—Gibbins; Munro, Cherries; Law, Cullen. Murray; Gray, McKean, Jordan, McNaughton, Jupp. Facing a light .northerly wind and bright sunshine, Scottish Wanderers kicked oft', their left-wing coming into action, and McNaughton tested Morris with a good shot. The goalkeeper kicked well downfield. Boe secured and parted to W. Moore, the winger making progress, then transferring to M. Liddicoat, whose high shot Gibbins fisted out. In a twinkling the Blues retaliated with an invasion into the Yellows' goal area arid were awarded a penalty kick, Cullen making no mistake. Scottish Wanderers, 1; Stop Out,
0. The restart saw the Yellows attack strongly, but Munrp intervened and play remained in midfleld for a short period. From a throw-in Boe sent his right-wing down the line, and from a bright bout of passing R. Liddicoat secured in a handy position and scored. Stop Out, 1; Scottish Wanderers, 1. From the midfield kick Sandholm delighted the spectators with a fine solo effort, but Law relieved with a kick to midfleld. The respite was only temporary, however. Nicholson gathered in and slipped the ball to Lark, who took it well into the Blues' goal area, where Mclvor received and beat Gibbins with a :fast, low shot. Stop Out, 2; Scottish Wanderers, 1. From the centre kick McKean and Gray combined in a delightful passing rush into the Yellows' goal area, and at the right moment- Gray .sent onto Jordan, who bent Morris with a beautiful effort jusl

Scottish Wanderers took the initiative and rushed the ball down to Yellows' goal area and forced a corner. From the kick-in Stop Out came down the centre in a pretty passing rush, Boe finalising the effort with la delightful shot. Slop Out, 3; Scottish Wanderers. 2. The^Blues attacked strongly, forcing a corner, and from the kick-in Jordan scored. Scottish Wanderers, 3; Stop Out, 3. Right from the kick-off the Yellows' left-wing was prominent in bright play. Lark putting his side in the lead with a neat shot. Stop Out, 4; Scottish Wanderers, 3. From now on the Yellows were definitely on top, the Blues' backs being unable to withstands the determined attacks of Stop Out's vanguard. From two of these invasions R. Liddicoat was successful in adding two more goals to the Yellows' total, making the final score on call of time: Stop Out, 6; Scottish Wanderers, 3. .■■■'■
