CASH CLUB'S EVENT
The Wellington Cash Athletic, an* Cycling Club conducted a 27-mile ract* from the Central Fire Station to th« Taita Hotel and back, on . Saturday Twelve riders competed, the winnei being W. Smith, of Palmerston Nortl* off the 9min mark. The limit mam Johnson, was riding well, and held nii handicap until he suffered a punctur* on the return journey. The winne* won by a length from his co-marke*. A Wright, with Nankivell, off smit» third. S. Wright, who partnered Nank* veil at the start, was just beaten-in'-th» sprint for third place. The two scratch men, Seelen (Palmerslon North) • and Foote both improved upon the times they made in- the last race over ih» Results were:—W. Smith (Stain), lhtf 12min 40 l-ssec, 1; A. Wright (9min). lhr 12min 40 3-s.sec, 2; K. NankivelJ (smin), lhr llmin 31 4-ssec, 3. Fastest time: J. Foote. lhr 7min 30 l-ssec, 1; W. J. .Seelen. lhr 7min 30 4-ssec, 2. The next race will be over 35 miles, to Silvcrstream and back. •
