Tho "Daily Mail's" Warsaw correspondent says that eight soldiers, twelve politemen, and four Boy Scouts sacrificed their lives trying to rescue peasants from trees ana roofs. Fifty' thousand families are homeless. Typhoid is developing at Taruopol. Cabinet Ministers - report that th© flood is a national' disaster of the first magnitude; Already £100,000 has been, subscribed to relievo sufferers. ' Tho poorest villages have contributed bread, and .railwayman and civil servants 2 per cent, of their month's wages. Tho inhabitants of tho dovastatcd district* havo been granted a moratorium on. debts and taxes.
The "Xcws-Chronicle's" Warsaw correspondent says that the destruction of tho famous Poniatowski bridgo is feared. The entiro military and police force, assisted by thousands of volunteers, aro joining in tho rescue work. Tho Zoological Gardens, the President's official residenco in tho suburb of Zaniok, and also Villanov Castle aro threatened.
