Horsfall was fourth, in the long jump with £lft 7sin. . •
In the mile Lovelock, lying handy, challenged Bonthron in tbo last lap. There was a terrific tussle, every yard being 'fiercely, contested. The New Zoalander entered the straight slightly ahead, and won by two yards. The time was somewhat disappointing in view of the runners' previous records.
