BROOKLYN CLUB
The Brooklyn Harrier Club reran the five miles race for the' Cooke Cup over one lap of the Vosseler cour&e. Twentysix runners faced the starter (Mr. F. W. Moore). A good race resulted in a win foi R, Jlartell, a first-year runner and oue o£ this season's "finds."
N. Johnson took the lead earl? and held it for the greater part of the race, being passed by Martell about a mile from the tape. The back-markers, Barclay, Roberts, and Pederson, found the handicaps a little too much for them, although Barclay was coming through very fast at the finish and ran into,fourth position. The first throe places were filled by first-season runners, who put up excellent performances.
