STUD DISPERSAL SALE
At-the dispersal sale of the Borainbola Park Stud (New South Wales), the property 6f Mr. A. P. Wade, on July 5, the English stallion Marconifrram, by Abb6t'6 Trace, was sold to Messrs. H. S. Thompson and P. C. Basche, of the Sunnyside Stud, Bylopg, for 3050 guineas. Marconißram, who is one of the most successful importations in recent years, is a close relation to Limond, being from Marcia Blanche, a half-sister, by Lemberg to Limond.
Several brood mares, all served by Marconigram, were ; offered at the sale, but there was a poor demand for them. The highest price was for the 12-year-old Purple Lilac, by Martian from Persian Lilac, who. was sold to Mr. S. Green for 500' guineas. ' Kukume, an older sister to P' -pie Lilac, realised 100 guineas, aqd was secured .'by. Mr. P. Miller. .Persian Lilac was imported to New Zealand by the Kinloch Stiid,' where she produced Kukume, Purple Lilac, and Satrap, the last-named being raced by Mr. J. S. Barrett, dud. sold by him to go to Australin.
