MIRAMAR B?AT PONEKE
Mu-amar not only defeated Poneke, but were somewhat: unfortunate in npt scoring more points than the 7 to 6, which gave them victory in. an interesting game played- on the Polo Ground. The actual scores were a ,-potted goal and a try to two tries.1: The -ball: was too heavy for conversions. fMiramar forwards more than held their own and gave possession to backs who have improved considerably. Tho result: was'that in the first spell Poneke were penned in their' own territory for most of; the time.
. Poneke_ scored first, Keen going over from a line-out near the goal line. Miramar carried-play to Poneke's twenty-five, and what seemed a certain try'followed, but was not allowed. . ' -■■■;:
; Upon resumption after half-time, Mira:mar seized a chance, following some ipatchy play, when a Poneke pass was jdropped. The Miramar forwards went tnrpugh and joined up with the backs in a-'paßsing bout which could not be denied, J. Cbdyre, wossing and making the points :all square, Dawson gave Miramar the lead when,' the forwards hooking near Poneke's line, he, potted a goal.
