. SYDNEY, July 20. A message from Bourke says- that Bourke's most picturesque figure, Gul Mahomet, an Afghan reputed to be 109 years of age, fell in a fire while asleep at his homo today. He was too weak to holp himself, but a friend, Dye Klian, who is about 80, rushed into the room, dragged tho centenarian from tho fire, nnd managed to beat out tho flames. Mahomet, however, diod in hospital.
