AUSTRALIAN VISIT
MATCH IN WELLINGTON
BID FOR THE SHIELD

Ou Thursday, August 23, the Weir linglon representatives will meet the Australian, team, and it is hoiked that all hockey' players and supporters will be present. The match promises to be an attractive one in view of the favourable reports concerning the touring side. It is reasonablo to assume that the .Wellington team which is to play for the Now Zealand Shield will also meet the Australians. The question of a-curtain-raiser for the match lias been under consideration by tho Wellington Hockey. Association for some time, and it has how been decided to arrange a match, between representatives from the Wellington' primary schools and a team/representing- the Manawatu primary schools. The contest will be for the CJiffo Shield, which was last competed for in 1926. In connection with the Australian match, it has been agreed that the unemployed! alnd schoolchildren will be admitted free.
