HATAITAI EFFORT

PLUNKET DANCE

In spite of bad weather the friends and supporters of the Eataitai Plunket sub-committee of the Plunkot Society held the dance arranged for Tuesday last, and all wove rewarded, by being able to spend a wonderfully pleasarit time. ' "Tho Eealm." hall has often had more people Hn itj but seldom has had happier, ones than those who faced the rain and storm and went there to enjoy the music and fun supplied, by Mr. Hilton and his orchestra. During the evening Miss Joan. Benge danced a Russian mazurka and received a hearty encore.

There were many novelty dances, with"Plunket baby" prizes for tho numerous lucky winners.

Among the winners were: Monte Carlo, Miss Pilgrim and Dr.'.Tehnent; Schottische exhibition, Mrs. Smythe and partner; balloon dance, Mrs. Eiches and partner, Miss Cbnibear and partner, Dr. Bakewell and' partner.

Committee members present- wore Mrs. S. E. Luke (president), Mrs. Dunlop (treasurer), Mesdamcs Baigent, Coafes, Evans, Murdoch, Hardie Boys, Eeedj Griffiths, and Britton (secretary).

The guests included Dr. and Mrs. Zohrab, Dr. and Mrs. Tennent Dr. and. Mrs. Slater, Dr. and Mrs. Bakcwell, Colonel and Mrs. Forbes, Miss Pilgrim, Mr. Pocock, Mrs. Eobcrts, Captain and Mrs. Bulloeh, Mr. and Mrs. Williamson, Mr. and. Mrs. Griffiths, Mr. and Mrs. Player, Mr. and Mrs. Eiches, Mr. and Mrs. Bender, Mr. and Mrs. A. Millburn, Mr. and Mrs. Blaekie, Mr. and Mrs. Giles, Mr. and Mrs. Smyth c, Misses Fogelberg, Eosenbcrg, C. Pearson, Mr. P. Murray.

The' committee thanked various land people who sent donations of different kinds and tho guests themselves for making the dance such a success.
