NOT RESIGNING
HON. A. HAMILTON
NO CABINET CHANGES
The Minister of Employment (the Hon. A. Hamilton) 5s not resigning from the Ministry. This announcement was made after a Cabinet meeting today by the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes).
Mr. Forbes said that Mr. Hamilton had undergone a further medical examination and had expressed a .wish to be relieved of his portfolios for a month or two. He felt that after a rest he would lie able to resume his duties.
In the meantime, said Mr. Forbes, Mr. Hamilton's portfolios would be distributed among other members of Cabinet, and the Government did not intend to appoint a new Minister or to increase the strength of the Ministry. No decision has yet been reached on the question of the temporary reallocation of portfolios. "The country was run all right while the Hon. R. Masters and myself were at Home at the World Economic Conference," said Mr. Forbes, "and think that we can carry on efficiently while Mr. Hamilton is recuperating."
