RAYNER KNOCKS OUT HURNE
: (By Telegraph—Press Association.) BLEJOTEIM, June 24. Clarrie Rayner (9st), Blenheim, successfully. defended his professional ' featherweight boxing title last night by knocking out Cyril Hurne (Bst 21b), Wellington, in 'the sixth of a scheduled 15-round contest. Although .a clever ring general, Hurne found that he could not concede 121b to the fast, hard-hitting young champion. Rayner was leading on points when he dropped ,the challenger for counts of nine and eight early in the sixth round. The referee, intervened on. the third knockdown
Hurne replaced Wright, bantam champion, at short notice.
