WEEKEND FIRES
Two minor outbreaks of fire occurred in Wellington on Saturday night. Tho first, notified to the-Fire Brigade at 10.17 p.m., originated in rubbish in a fuel box against the side of a wooden house of three floors at No. 10 Salamanca Boad, and caused damage to the wall and also to an external staircase. The house is owned and occupied by Mrs. E. E. Hannah. The flames also slightly damaged the wall of the adjoining house, No. 6, which is owned and occupied by Mrs. E. Duncan.
Shortly after midnight on Saturday the Constable Street brigade received a call to 5a Boyd's Terrace, Newtown, where a fire had occurred in a settee. The two occupants of the flat in which tho fire broke out were asleep in bed when the firemen arrived.' The alarm had been given from a street box. The flat is occupied by Mr. Samuel Telfor.
