The Auckland report from- Sister Esther, where there are many probationers, was particularly good, and g*ood news was received from Christchurch as well. Some of the girls have recently finished their probation, and wrote in a gratifying manner of the kindness they had received. One of the members of the committee stated that some went on writing long' after probation was over, and seemed to like to keep in touch with the committee. Letters from Whangarei and Dunedin were received with news of girls. Mrs. Tait reported on the arrangements she had made for a recent probationer^ and for a girl who is leaving the institution shortly. Arrangements were made for Thursday evening entertainments, which will take the form of travel talks, accounts of current events, music, needlework, and handcrafts. •' . Appreciation was expressed of the work done by Mrs. Tait in- the-past year in making arrangements for-the Thursdays, and also of the kindness of those who had helped her. . *
