GREYTOWN HOSPITAL
ITS FUTURE USE
AN OLD PEOPLE'S HOME
(Special to "The Evenino Post.*') MASTEETON, This Day. ■ After hanging in tho balance for over two years, the fate of the Greytown Hospital, and with it that of the Solway Old Men's Home, was decided j at yesterday's meeting of the Wairarapa, Hospital Board. In future tho Greytown Hospital and tho Buchanan Home will be used entirely as an Old People's Home, and the Solway Home will be closed, the inmates being transferred to Greytown. Mr. J. F. Thompson (Greytown) and Dr. G. S. Sharp (Featherston) strongly opposed the move, haying been directed to do so by the respective borough councils. Mr. Thompson moved that the Greytown Hospital revert to its former status of a fully equipped and staffed hospital, but this was defeated by an overwhelming majority, and a motion giving effect to xtho board's decision was carried by 10 votes to 6.
