CAPE HORN YOUNGSTERS

To fill the boxes in his stables at Trentham vacated when the seven year : lings now broken in and worked are dispatched to join up with his Caulfield team, Mr W. R. Kemball will shortly be sending down from Masterton several yearlings of his' own breeding, who will be put through the early paces of their racing "it is' probable that' the batch will consist of eight Cape Horn youngsters, as follows:—Barnurn, a bay gelding from Melting Moment (dam of Shortly and Foulwind)-; Cape Lilock, a bay gelding from Lilock (half-sister by Lrnioud to Son o' Mine and, Robbie's Mistake); Cape Morn, a- bay colt from ,Miss Wayward (half-sister to Emperador); Cape Rose, a bay gelding from Rose Martian (dam ot Sailing); Carlock, a bay filly from Arizona (dam"of Homeward Bound); Orbys Last, a chestnut colt from, Australianbred Lady Orby; Rulate, a bay filly from Conflict (dam of Sir Limond); and Wiliwyn, a chestnut filly from Eurella (dam of Golden Horn). Twelve months ago seven Cape Horn yearlings were broken in for Mr. Ivemball at Trentham, but it was decided not to race them during their two-year-old season, allowing them time to mature. One was fatally hurt, one proved to have a defect, and one was given away as a nacK. The others may shortly also be; put into work again with a view to racing next season. '
