The number of y passenger automobiles registered in the United States in 1932 was almost 2,003000 less than the number in 1929, states tie Cleveland Trust Co. .of Ohio. In that year there were over 23,000,000 passeiger cars registered, and each year since there has been a progressive reduction uitil in 1932 there were only a few more thsin 21,000,000. The decline from 1929 to ISO was only about 60,000. That from 1930 to 1931 amounted to over 70,000, from 193: to 1932 the reduction was almost 1,200,000, and these reductions make up the total 0t'^2,000,000. "The figures of registrations an commonly cited as representing the nutiber of automobiles in use, but, of course, that is not so, for each car that drops out of use during the year is also included ii the registration of that year, and must be deducted in estimating the number of cars actually in use.
