HUTT POWER BOARD
REVENUE FOR THE YEAR
The Hutt Valley Electric Power Board met yesterday. Mr. S. Blackley presided and there 'were also present. Me,ssrs. A. Walker, A. J..Hobbs, A. Anderson, L. Stewart, J. Maher, K. W. Bothamley, VV. H. P. Barber; and J. W. McEwau. Less money was received for power sold in the year ended March 31 last than was received for power sold in the previous year, according to a report supplied by the engineer-general manager (Mr. E. F. Hollands). The past year's figures, to the nearest pound,l,, with figures for the preceding year in parentheses, were as fol-1 lows: Domestic lighting, £36,637 (£37;813); commercial lighting, £9442 (£8990); heating and cooking, £22,783 (£20,375); water heating, £8962 (£8573); power,. £26,890 (£29,289); street lighting, £4785 (£5104.). Discpunts allowed amount; ed to £9754 (£8579), making the total ! revenue. £99,754'(£101,565). The amount collected from outside depots in March was £1592 10s 7d, of which £593 15s 5d was collected at the Wellington city depot. Statistical returns for March, .with [ totals to date in parentheses, were as follows: Number of installations, '31 (11,192); .ranges, 5 (1492); water heaters, 9 (1362). The total connected load in (K.W.-was 150 (41,000), made up of light 12 (5051); heat 129 (28,056), power 9 (7893). The maximum demands were 2688 X.V.A. from Melling at 6.45 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, at .91 power factor; and 1602 X.V.A. from Khandallah at 3.30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, at .93 power, factor. Units registered for the month totalled 1,181,300 from Melling and 779,500 from Khandallah. . . _; Eeinspection work was proceeding in the.
