HENDERSON IN PARIS

LUNCH WITH MINISTERS

CORDIAL ATMOSPHERE

(British Official Wireless.) (Received 16th July; 11 a.m.) RUGBY, 15th July. The Foreign Secretary, Mr. Henderson, spent a busy morning at the French : Colonial before meeting the French Ministers. A communique issued this afternoon states: Monsieur Briand to-day gave a luncheon to Mr. Henderson, at which there ' were present M. Laval, Prime Minister, M. Flandin, Finance Minister, M. Pietri, Minister of the Budget, M. Poncet, President of the Council, and officials of the Foreign Ministry. .

"After luncheon a conversation took place, during which all outstanding problems were passed in review, and in particular the German crisis. The conversations were conducted in the most cordial atmosphere. -They will be continued early to-morrow morning. It is not at present known when Mr., Henderson will meet Mr. Stimson, the United States Secretary of State, who arrived in Paris to-day from Borne."

Mr. Henderson leaves for, Berlin on Thursday night, and on Friday morning will have a conversation with Dr. Curtius, the German Foreign Minister, with whom he will lunch. Discussions at the Foreign Office will be resumed in the afternoon. The Prime Minister, Mr. Mac Donald, who is returning the German Ministers' visit to Chequers, is not due in Berlin till Friday evening. Whether he flies as originally intended, or travels by train to-morrow night, depends on the weather conditions. ~
