LOCAL MANAGEMENT

Mr. G. Aers presided over a meeting of the Wellington .Football Association last evening. There were present Messrs. J. M. Coleman, 1\ Maekie, H. Power, E. Anderson, S. C. Shedden, J. J. Kean, C. B. i'ittes, W. leaser, H. Spolsky, U. J. Weir, and ii. A. Mabin (.secretary ). in connection with the intrusion o£ two Kugby piayers on a Soccer ground during play on:a recent Saturday, a letter from die Kugby Union tendered the apologies of the two uiubs concerned. It wus stated that the oli'ence was not mtended but was due to thoughtlessness, 'and both players denied that.tney were abusive when spoken to. The Petone Club complained . that difficulty was being experienced on the Petone Kccreation Grouml in keeping spectators clear of the playing field, because there was no vopo or any other means of forming a. boundary, it was decided to have arrangements made to stop the trouble, and the Petoile .Club are to be requested to co-operate in keeping spectators off the line. A player who had been suspended by the Waterside Club for playing i'ojj. VV.Y.M.I. while still a registered player of the' Waterside Club was suepended for two playing Saturdays. The W.Y.M.I. Club is to bo reprimanded for fielding a registered player of-another club. • The Junior Management Committee reported that Waterside had put in a coun-ter-protest against Stop Out for fielding a player over nge. Stop Out had previously protested against Waterside for the samo reason. It was decided that no points be awarded to either club. Marist (Thorndon) protested against Institute sixth division for a similar reason. The game was awarded to Marist (Thorndon). Institute notified that two of the boys were over age, but tliey were willing to forfeit tho points rather than break up the team. The Stop Out Club protested against having to play Trentham at Maidstone Park, as they had already played in the Hutt Valley. Thiß game was originally set down to be played at Kelburn Park last Saturday, but all that day's, fixtures were cancelled. It, was decided that no change could be made in the fixture. : The New Zealand Council expressed thanks for the association's efforts in reaching the preliminary stage of the Chatham Cup competition, and offered congratulations for the very fine displays given by the teams during the series. The next game, between Petone and St. Andrews, is to be played at Palmerston North on 25th July. Petone had requested-that the game be played at the Basin Reserve, but the request was refused, as fixtures drawn up' by the competitions committee could ■not bo altered. ' ;J "
