NELSON RADIO SOCIETY
At the annual meeting of the Nelson Badio Club a discussion arose on tbe geographic position of Nelson with regard to wireless reception from Welfiiigton. It was pointed out that experts had stated that Nelson was the worst place for static in New Zealand. .It was decided that the Government lir- asked to renew the licence of the 2?ew Zealand Broadcasting Co., with
the provisiou that it sliould establish relay stations in various centres, including Kelson, and in view of the expression of expert opinion that Nelson is so unfavourably placed for. reception it should have first consideration tvhen the establishment of. these stations is being decided upon. Copies of the resolution are to be sent to the Postmaster-General, the Hon. H. Atmoro, Mr. G. C. Black, M.P., the Hon. W. W. Snodgrass, M.L.C., the Nelson Progress League, Chamber ot Commerce, and tlio Broadcasting Co. The following oflicers were elected:— President, Mr. A. Gould (re-elected); vice-presideuts, Messrs. Fitzgerald and H. "V. Searle, and one vacancy to be filled; secretary, Mr. Colemau; committee, Messrs. Thomas, Pago, Whitwell, De'vine, H. E. Chapman/and Cochrane.
