Auckland, howevor, soon forged ahead, adding several goals in a very short space of time, and at half-time they had gained a lead of 5 goals. The score was 12-7. Wellington started off well in the second spell, and scored several goals in succession, but G. Turner (Auckland defender) made many wonderful saves for her side, a»id was responsible for keeping the visitors from scoring on many occasions. E. M' Guire (Wellington forward) was most outstanding, her goal shooting and field work being brilliant. E. Parsons Wellington defender) is also to be complimented on her very fine showing. Auckland owed their success to the fine work of C. Turner (defender), J- M'lntosh, and J. Nagel (forwards). The centros of both teams played a pretty passing game, and at times the pace was amazing. The Auckland team fully deserved their win, but tho Wellington players need not feel disgraced, as it was one of the finest games witnessed between these two teams. The HaeremaiNewtown O.G. contest was the most even game. Both teams played strenuously, and the defence of both sides prevented any very easy scoring. In the first spell Haeremai gave too many badly directed passes, and several good positional passes were intercepted by Newtown owing to slowness of Haeremai in getting in position. The Newtown forwards were too hasty jn their, shooting) and missed several fairly easy attempts at goal. The game ended, in Haereuiai's favour by 10 goals t0.3. Mr; Bryant refereed. . •. . ".- Waacs proved .too strong for Kirkcaldies, and had no difficulty in putting, up a large score. They showed sure team work, and all thirds worked well together. Over-eagerness at times spoilt the game,'causing fumbling and scrambling.- The final score:was Waacs 25, Kirkealdies 4. Mr. Proud was in charge 'of the game. More decisive combination enabled Kiwi, to defeat Training College. The winners showed the ability to pass quickly and accurately, and fully deserved their win. Although Training College were not far behind in actual scoring, their, team tactics were not as good, as those of Kiwi. Mr. Bryant refereed. Northland were not able to stand up to the repeated attacks of Wellington East, and were outclassed in all departments of the game. Wellington East showed some pretty passing movoments, from which well-deserved goals were scored. The game ended in their favour by 29 goals to 9. Mr. Proud controlled the game. Beferees'Association. Eeports that South Wellington, Constable Street, Newtown, and Mount Cook grounds were in need of re-mark-ing were received, and the secretary was instructed to forward these to the Wellington Basketball Association. It was suggested that as there was still too little knowledge of the ' finer points and - the rules of the pme among the players, that referees who are coaching should make use of. opportunities to improve the standard of play. More publicity as 10 the faults of players would prove of benefit. • The nominations of Misses Elliott, Beales, and Leathwick, and Mr. N. Hamilton as members of the association were accepted. Mrs. Muir proposed that Misses E. Bell, H. Roberts, D. Turner, R. Codyre, and Bradshaw be added to the list of emergency referees.
