The resumption of the New ZealandHampshire match was delayed for an hour owing to rain. The not-out batsmen were Dempster (86) and Kerr (2), but the latter did not add to his score before / being dismissed. Dempster made a chaneejess century in 150 minutes. At 1 o'clock rain interrupted play, and fell steadily throughout the afternoon, causing the game to be abandoned at 3 o'clock. New Zealand's score'was 161 for four wickets (Demp-•■ ster 106 not out).
