Rules and bylaws for trading in silver futures have been approved by the Board of-Governors of the National Metal Exchange, Incorporated.. Members will vote on'2sth May on proposed amendments to the: bylaws that will provide for trading in ."silver futures.
Tl;e market, which'will he the only one of^its kind in the world, will open for tracing on 14th June. The first delivery in the month of AugtisV'Svill be the contract unit for silver futures, and .■will be 25,000 ounces of 99.9 per- cent, fineness. ■•.■"'. Only bar silver bearing an approved tr^ud or marking will be deliverable. It it' expected that thexniarket will be utilised extensively by banks and others for-hedging their silver commitments.
