JOLIET GAOL DAMAGED ARMED MEN QUELL RIOT (Received 19th March, '2 p.m.) CHICAGO, 18th March. A message from Joliet (Illinois) states that within an hour after •' howling mob of sixteen hundred convicts had set fire to the interior of th« new Statesville- Prison on Wednesday and ran riot, the State militia men. quelled the disturbance. Seven buildings were destroyed, with a loss of 500,» 000 dollars. Tour convicts wer§.'wounded, and three guards beaten.
