Japanese, and Continental as well tos local buyers were active. ' . SYDNEY, 18t.h February. At the wool sales to-day offerings were ?f1,t84 bales, of which 10,269 were sold at auction; also 285 bales wore sold privately. The market was again bright, values for best descriptions being equal to late improved rates, while for good and average ports there was a distinct hardening tendency. Greasy Merino, sold at up to 23d, smd comebacks at 14% d, the latter being ifche highest price of the season for this description.
