The Queensland. Attorney-General has issued writs .against Frederick Reid, William M'Cormack, Edward Grenville Theodore, and Peter Goddard, claiming damages for "causing damage to an estate ,of the King," or, in the alternative, damages, in connection with the purchase of certain inhiea at Miingana, mid on two other alternatives. v
When -the Queensland AttorneyGeneral (Mr. 3ST. F. Maegroarty) moved the second reading of the Crown Bemedies Act Amendment Bill, to enable civil proceedings to be taken, he said: "Messrs. Theodore and M'Cormack dodged the witness-box before .the Boyal Commission because they . were afraid. The alteration of the Act is to prevent them having an opportunity to dodge the witness-bos:in civil proceedings.' ■■ .■■■'■"•"'■ ' , :
