COOL WEATHER
WEEK-END OUTLOOK
An anti-cyclone still extends from the Tasman Soa across northern New Zealand, but during yesterday^a slight depression of the westerly type crossed the southern portion of tho Dominion. Winds became strong from the west during the day, and some showers developed, more especially in western districts. During the evening, however, they became rather more general, extending to the far northern and south-j crn districts as well. This morning winds had backed again to a more southerly direction and conditions were becoming cloudy on the East Coast of the South Island. The southerly, however, is not likely to be of long duration. It is probable that during tomorrow winds will again assume a more westerly direction and the weather improve.
The forecast is for moderate to strong west to south winds, later veering once moro to westerlies. The weather should be cool and changeable, with probably a light shower or two this evening, but should improve again to-morrow.
