LOWER HUTT METHODIST CONCERT.
An, excellent programme has been arranged for presentation by the choir of the' Lower Hutt Methodist Church in St. James's Hall, Woburn road, Lower Hutt, on Monday night. Composed entirely of the -works of British composers, it includes the cantata, "England Expects," by Hubert Bath, which will be performed in New Zealand for the first time. Before the cantata Miss Mary Cooley will recite H. de Vere Stacpoole's poem. Other soloists will be Miss Evelyn Robinson (contralto), Mr. Wilbur Da vies (baritone), Mr. Assheton Harbord (recitalist), Miss Ava Symons and Mr. W. M'Lean (violinists). Mr. Ernest Dawson will be the conductor, Mr. C. B. Horman accompanist. The 2YA Orchestrina (under Signor A. P. Truda) will contribute orchestral numbers, and the Orchestrina will accompany the choir in several numbers. Popular prices are being charged, and the box plan is now open at Ernest Dawson's music room.
