DRAWING IN THEIR HORNS
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The New Zealand Trotting Association last iiiglit granted an application by the Auckland Trotting Club for leave to reduce the stakes for the current year. There was some opposition to the proposal. For the club, it was stated that expenses had been heavy, and it was anticipated that the year might prove a bad one. Mr. R. A. Armstrong, of Wellington, in supporting the application, said that unless liis club was allowed four one-day meetings it would have .to apply for remission to reduce its stakes.
