WEDDINGS

A quiet evening wedding was solemnised at the Catholic Church, Island Bay, when Kathleen Marj, youngest daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. H. Crawford, Island Bay, was married to Loo (Bob), third son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Beveriilge, Island Bay. ,The bride, who was escorted by her brother (Mr. Prank Crawford), wore a frock of pale pink crcpe-do^-chinc, with close-fitting bodice and ankle-length handkerchief skirt, which was finished with a bow at the side. Her veil of pink tulle was caught at the back of tho head with :i spray of orange blossom, and fell to the ground to form a, train. She carried a bouquet of pink and whito flowers. Tho bridesmaid, Mist. Molly Bevcridge, wore a pale green fioek and felt hat, and carried a bouquet of autumn-tinted flowers lied with gieeu ribbon. Mr. Jim Bovcridge was best man. Airs. H. Crawford wore a frock of black crepe-de-chine, and a black hat with ospreys. Her bouquet was of Iceland poppies and violets. Mrs. Bcveridge wore a nigger brown tailored costume and a nigger brown hat. She also carried a bouquet of Iceland poppies. A reception was held at the homo of the bride's mother. The brides' travelling dress was of saxc blue, with a coat and hat to match. The wedding was recently solemnised at the Maranui Methodist Church of Jessie Napier Madge, daughter of the late Mr.- and Mrs. W. Pirie, Wellington, and John Wilford, youngest son of tho late Mr. and Mrs. Fox, Waipukurau. The Rev. Mr. M'Bowell officiated. The service was a choral one, with Miss Hitchings presiding at the organ. During the service G. d'Hardelot's "Because" was rendered by Mrs. J. Patterson. The bride, who was escorted by Mr.'H. G. C.• Simmonds, wore parchment satin, mado princess style, with long court train of parchment tulle, edged with wide gold lace. A Brussels lace voil and a pearl and diamante coronet were worn, and si c carried a shower bouquet of small spring flowers. On leaving the church the bride was presented with two dainty horseshoes, one by little Miss Ngaire Oxcnham, and the other by Miss. Gwen. Bowden. The bridesmaids, Miss Phyllis Tomlin and Miss Edna Parton, both of "Wellington, wore frocks of burnt oiange ha tin, and tangeiine satin respectively. Each wore a gold lace cap and a tulle veil to correspond with her frock. They both carried staves, ornamented witli big- tulle bows. Master .Charlio Murphy was a page <boy, and .woic a suit of cream satin. Mr. 'A. M. Fletcher was best man, and Mr. G-.- Ald'crsly groomsman. A reception was aftorwards held at tho Daniell street Hall, which was gaily decorated with greenery and balloons. Tho per table was decorated to tone with, the frocks worn by the bridal party. The 'guests were received1 "by ? Mrs. A.. W-; Parton, who acted as hostess. After the breakfast-the-guests danced 'till midnight. Musical items were rendered by Mrs. J. Patterson, 'Miss L. Do Reya, Miss G. Bowden, and- Mr. H. Wilson.
