There is a speculative demand for ewes, and prices ' -c advanced. The'demand'for lamb i Uing off, and prices are maintained h difficulty. There is. a better demand beef." • ■ ' Messrs. Levin and Co., Ltd., have received advice from their London agents, dated 3rd' October, stating: "As compared •with last -week's quotations, lamb is unchanged, with the exception of 2nd quality, which is 1-Sd per 1b higher. Best ISiorth Island wether, 48/301b 'id per lb higher; 56/T2lb' l-Bd.per lb higher; North Island ewes, 4S/721b, l-8d per lb higher.
