VICE-REGAL. Their Excellencies the GovernorGeneral and Lady Bledisloe returned to Wellington yesterday morning,. > after having completed their first official visits to Christchurch and Dunedin. This morning His Excellency presided over a mooting of the Executive Council: On the evening of 23rd April (St. George's Day) His Excellency will hold an investiture and reception at Government House. '■■■•.■ Lord and Lady Bledisloe will leave Wellington on the evening .'of-27th April to pay their first official visit, to Eotorua, and will remain there until Wednesday, 30th April. . The Minister of Education (the Hon. H. Atmoro) leaves to-night . for Nelson, en route to the West Coast, where he will inspect schools. ' The Minister of Defence .(the. Hon. J. G. Cobbc.) will leavo for Christchurch to-night. . He expects to.return to Wellington on Wednesday morning. The Minister of Industries and Commerce (tho Hon. J. B. Donald) will arrive from Auckland to-morrow niorning. .•_-.!...-■ . Tho Minister Of Railways- (the Hon. W. B. Taverner) is expected to return on Wednesday morning from Nelson and tiio West Coast districts. ' : . : Mr. J. Stopford, ivho was ; Home Secretary in the late Queensland Government, and is spending "some weeks ...in New Zealand inquiring into various phases of the Dominion's social legislation, is now in Wellington. He will leavo for Auckland shortly. ■•- : . • Miss L. Brandon, Mr. W.Barke, and Mr. C. O. Jorgensen left by the Maori on Saturday to attend, the Masseurs' Conference which i*s being held in Dunedin this week. '.'• ..-'• ■-. ■ ■ Canon H. Watson, who.lias been vicar of St. Peter's Church for many years, has resigned his incumbency from the end of June, acting on Ms doctor's orders. Canon Watson has been appointed diocesan minister, but so far no. one has been named to succeed Mm at St. Peter's. '
