A CLOSE CALL
A TRAM TAKES WRONG LINE
That a motorist sliould not take anything for granted was illustrated by a happening in Molesworth street yesterday afternoon. A motorist when passing over the loop line at the intersection of Pipitea street, across which down tramcars swing, suddenly found that a tramcar coming tip was taking the wrong line. It swung out on the loop and made straight for him, but the motorist kept his head, and instead of jamming on his brakes steered hard for the gutter, with the result that the tram missed his car by inches.
