AMATEUR ATHLETICS
NO LOCAL EASTER MEETING
in.the sports section this evening reference is made to the Plimmerton Club's .Easter meeting, but since the page went to press advice has been received that the club has now decided not to hold the meeting. This means, in view of the fact that the Petone Club is also not holding its proposed gathering, that there will be no Easter attraction for Wellington athletes and cyclists, with the exception of the fixture at Motueka. The Victoria University College annual inter-faculty sports are being held this afternoon at Kelburn Park, nnd this meeting will probably bo the last to be held locally this season.
The country clubs' championships, originally set down for Levin, are now to be conducted by the Manawatu Amateur Athletic Club at Palmerston I\ Tortli on Easter Saturday. ,
